Spring / Summer 2017
The 87 year old independent director-producer Bruce Grund is staging this riveting re-vision of “Anna Christie” that resonates so powerfully with the greatly changed status of women today.
Since most of the play as written by Eugene O’Neill, takes place on a coal barge, “Anna Christie” will not be done in a theatre..but instead on the waterfront at the Certified Marina in Connelly, across the Rondout from the Kingston Waterfront. All the action filled with the depth and power of O’Neill’s explosive emotional conflicts, will take place only nine feet from the water. A realistic coal barge set, will induce “the willing suspension of disbelief” in the audience and also in the actions.
“Anna Christie” is being produced by Apocalypse Productions with Bruce Grund and Stephen Tenner of Stella May Productions as co-producer.
